An Austrian writer who is considered one of the most important German-speaking authors of books for children and young people. With over 100 books, she is one of the best-known and most influential children’s book authors in the German-speaking area. She also published dialect poems and cookbooks.
In her books, she primarily deals with children’s needs and takes up questions of authority and emancipation. One of their most pressing issues is resistance to arrogance, oppression and injustice in any form.
